Hi, my name is Kyle Covington. I was
born in Midland, Texas in 1949, and
spent thefirst 17 years of my life going
to school, taking part in competitive
swimming and doing the normal? things
any other teenager does. I began
playing guitar when I was 10 (mostly
Beatles stuff) and began playing in
clubs at 15.
|
That was the best place to play with
the good players. I graduated high
school in 1968, and went to the
University of Texas at Arlington on a
swimming scholarship. I played all over
|
the Ft. Worth/Dallas area with club
bands and then left after 3 years to go
on the road with a band made up of
some home town buddies. I spent the
next year performing around
Albuquerque (mostly southern rock and
R&B), and then 2 years in Los Angeles,
before deciding to go to music school
at South Plains College in Levelland,
Texas. I got my degree in guitar
|
performance and went back to work in
the Oil & Gas business with my father
in Texas, playing clubs and teaching
guitar at Midland College. I spent 13
years in the O&G industry before
|
relocating to western Kentucky where I
bought a music store and recording
studio. After running Thunderbird
Music for a number of years, I moved
to Nashville in 1994 with my wife
|
Shelia to perform with a high profile
band called Mardi Gras. I spent 7
years traveling America and recording
3 CD's before retiring to my hilltop
estate in Whites Creek, TN, just
outside of Nashville. Of course there
is more to the story, but I'm
|
using the abridged version for the sake
of space on the web site. The next few
pages will give you a pictorial taste of
my life and some snippets of music
from some of my CD's, as well as
|
the opportunity to purchase some music
if you want.

Thanks for visiting and have fun
checkin it out!
